MP Changes Plea to Guilty

I see an MP due to go on trial tomorrow has changed his plea to guilty.
MP Guilty
One member of the Lords is still awaiting sentence and one still to go on trial.

One can see him getting the longest sentence thus far.
I'll guess at least 30 months or maybe longer.
I can still remember the day we paid off our mortgage and that was 11 years ago - there's no way that a supposedly intelligent person would forget.

Whatever he gets, he will be out in less than half that time.
Followed by a book or article in the press and he is quids in.

They always seem to come up smelling of roses.
If he hasn't repaid the full amount he stole it should be taken from any future earnings.

Think they should send the ringleader to trial and prosecute him for negligence?
Ex-prime minister Gordon Brown admitted that he made a "big mistake" in not seeking tighter regulations on banks in the lead up to the financial crisis

Yes and he also made a big mistake in bypassing the rules on bank mergers and allowing the TSB to take over the Halifax resulting in TSB to be bailed out by the taxpayer !

And if you read the details Lloyds TSB were put under pressure by the government to take over the Halifax.  They would not have been in trouble had they not done so.

The Vickers report is telling Lloyds/TSB/HBOS they are too powerful in the high street and need to dispose of some of their branch network Sad

I think Richard Branson is looking to buying some of the branches to give his Virgin Bank a kick start.

Our local high street could do with a shake up, with a population of 20,000 Buxton has 15 banks and building societies some duplicated.
Nice thing is there is never a queue.
