MOT Worker Wreck's £200,000 Ferrari

A garage worker wrecked a client's £200,000 Ferrari after he took the supercar for a spin on the road to "put it through its paces" following an MOT.
The Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, which has a top speed of 196mph, was being driven by a road tester from a local MOT centre when it smashed into a lamppost and flew over a two-foot wall into the middle of a roundabout.
The dark blue vehicle, one of only a handful of models in Britain, was seriously damaged after the crash in New Malden, Surrey, in which the driver, in his early 20s, was unhurt.
A source said the car was being given a "quick road test" before being returned to its owner, who is "obviously not happy that their pride and joy has been wrecked".
A Ferrari spokesman said the car was not being driven by a member of staff from Ferrari or an official Ferrari dealership, and added the company would help police with any inquiries.
Police said the incident was being treated as a "one car accident" and that an investigation was unnecessary.
The driver was treated for shock by paramedics at the scene.

saw a nice BMW today at Scotch Corner (A1) got on the inside of an overlong steel beam on a lorry and got well and trully crushed, the artic truck was taking up two /half lanes going round the bend, the BMW the other half, rather bogged up the roundabout

I didn't think a road test was part of the MOT test.
Seems like this [Censored] just wanted to try out the car.

Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans has splashed out £12m on a rare 1960s Ferrari.

Which garage will be doing the MOT for this car?

Re: MOT Worker Wreck's £200,000 Ferrari

poor blighter.  a beautiful car is hard to resist.  i was asked to take a gorgeous mercedes to the car park, just about a quarter of a mile away.  i couldn't stop myself drifting down to the embankment where i might be able to give here her head for a half mile or so.  i was conscious that i might come to grief, but youth and enthusiasm wins the day every time.  it was a splendid little adventure in a wonderful car.
by great good fortune all i had to deal with afterwards was the question of why it took so long to park the car.

Sorry, I meant to say I would tell him he had been a silly billy and send him to the the naughty corner for five minutes.
