Re: MMM Home made soup & Bread

It was lovely. Be even better tomorrow though  Cool
One of the benefits of making a big pot is having some left for the second day, and it always tastes better the next day,
Made some rock cakes this morning as well, but not as happy with the recipe I used. (BBC one) So some muffins tomorrow to last me for the next week or so  Wink (And all diabetic "friendly" as well, can't have shop bought cakes (Way too MUCH sugar in them) so have to make my own  Sad)

Haven't had home made soup today, but we often do.
Our favourite is leek and potato  -  both home grown  Smiley

HB - does your breadmaker make wheat/gluten free bread alright?
A friend of mine does lovely home made soup and does not use wheatflour at all in them so I am alright with it but I have to take my own bread!

No Idea, never had to try to make one. Neither of us has that problem.

Type 2, on tablets to control it. Had no problems since I was first diagnosed (touch wood), and my blood tests are so good the doc just says don't bother coming in for a review  Cheesy I just have to see a nurse every 6 months and since I have been making my own muffins, etc I don't really miss the shop bought stuff (although I do miss a sticky bun covered in icing  Cry)

Re: MMM Home made soup & Bread

Impossible to beat home made soup.......either for price or taste. Best bit is you can make a big batch and keep it in the freezer.
Some of this shop soup (in cartons) barely enough for 2 people costs around £2 and can't match the home made stuff.

Re: MMM Home made soup & Bread

Having sampled the wonderful results. I keep dropping heavy hints that I would quite like Santa to leave me one of those soup making machines (see Lakeland) That would go beautifully with my home-made bread and rolls.
Petlew leaves address for Santa...again!
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

OUCH! 25.9 was what mine was when I was diagnosed, about 6 years ago.
How is she testing and when? You have to remember to take the sample 2 hours after food. She also needs to avoid "normal" drinks and drink the diet type (there is 30g of sugar in a "normal" can of coke etc)
My meter usually reads under 9, but my long term (from the blood test at the doc) is 5.9.
