Re: MFI gone

I remember a sketch on the TV once (can't remember who did it) the Lion, the Witch and the MFI wardrobe.
They all got in and it fell apart. Guess you had to be there  Roll eyes

Re: MFI gone

I do wonder what we are gonna do for furniture now that don't cost the earth.
Guess there's ikea but don't seem to carry a large enough range.

Re: MFI gone

I feel very sorry for the staff of course, and any customers who had paid money and not yet received goods - but I won't miss them.
Rather tacky stuff for the most part.
Interestingly - the founders son - was on TV a while ago - running an estate in the far north of the Scottish Highlands - introducing Elks and wolves again !.

Re: MFI gone

Christmas TV won't be the same without the announcements of an MFI sale.

Whoops - I have two bedrooms complete with identical MFI fitted wardrobes.
Had quotes from various companies and it would have been double the cost and TBH the quality didn't seem an awful lot better for the money.
Am quite satisfied with the furniture - it looks clean, hasn't fallen apart and does the job of storing my rubbish so no complaints here.
I know that MFI is the trendy by-word for tat but I shall miss the company when I am next in the market for furniture or fittings.

Re: MFI gone

A neighbour of mine bought an ex display bath suite from MFI at its closing down sale which I was helping him fit. Imagine his surprise when we realised that all of the fittings/mixers were not there because yes you guessed it, it was just for DISPLAY! the mixers are specific to the taps and unobtainable. Apparently this is common place, companies fit out the stores to sell their products but they also take away essential parts to prevent them being sold on.
Be Warned.
