Hi Guys,
I need to run about 25 metres of CAT6 cable to my PC upstairs from the router downstairs in the living room.
The question is, which CAT6 cable do I buy? Most CAT6 come in 26 AWG and a few in 24 AWG, but I managed to find a 23 AWG cable from here https://www.kenable.co.uk/en/network-cables-reels/8537-kenable-cat6-cat-6-utp-copper-ethernet-networ...
Is this a good CAT6 cable for a 25 metre run or would you recommend something else?
Many thanks

I might question why you need a Car6 cable when solid copper cored thinner Cat5e would in all probability do the job, but nevertheless I note that this Cat6cable is 7mm diameter. This suggests to me that you will need a large bending radius for any changes in direction.

I have some CAT6 Connectors lying around so thought might as well buy some CAT6 cables and also a little bit of future proofing I guess.
You got me thinking twice now though as the bend radius is definitely going to be an issue, it would be pointless having CAT6 cables with damaged copper due to over bending.
Here's CAT5E solid copper at 24 AWG
https://www.amazon.co.uk/kenable-CAT5e-COPPER-Ethernet-Network/dp/B00LPUOTWE/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&...
And what about CAT6 26 AWG
https://www.amazon.co.uk/CSL-Ethernet-Gigabit-1000Mbit-compatible/dp/B00J3UYNII/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UT...
Happy to go with good quality CAT5E copper cables but my main concern is the 25-30 metre run so thought CAT6 with 23 AWG Copper would be a good choice.
Thank you, Sir.

I used a 24 gauge Cat5e to wire my house. If you want to make a neat and professional job consider terminating the fixed cable with a wall mounted RJ45 socket at each end. Use a short patch cable at each end to connect to the router and computer.

I've found these people useful in the past: https://www.solwise.co.uk/

When I ran cabling from from my passage downstairs to upstairs bedroom I just used the cheapest I could find on ebay. Just a couple of pounds I think it was. And the same again when I ran it to a downstairs back room.
No problems with either over the years.

I went ahead and bought a reel of 100 m Kenable CAT5e solid copper cables from Amazon which I will use with RJ45 wall plates, and then use some patch leads from there to the PC .
Cheers

so long as its shielded it shouldn't make any difference what cable you use
iirc both 5 and 6 is essentialy the same in terms of signal conductivity, but they have different sheath formulations....
if your running unshielded wires you might find problems though from other things like mains wiring triggering rein type problems/
