Re: Long range weather forecast - Winter 2009/10

The Met Office said that we were going to have a hot summer... whereas we had one small heatwave for a few days which (IIRC) didn't even hit 30C and that's it. So I don't think I'd place too much weight on such long-term predictions.

Heatwave went upto around 35C I think.  But it didn't last very long.

I don't know what you've been smoking James, but I really couldn't believe that so looked in to it, and the highest temperature recorded this summer was 31.8C in Surrey on the 30th of June.

I should very much like to see a winter with some lovely bright and clear frosty mornings. Some snow too but not too heavy a fall. These days winters are too much of a muchness IMO.

UK long range weather forecast
This forecast is updated once a month and runs out to 4 months in advance. Using the latest long range data from the NCEP and then run through custom software here at Netweather it is on the cutting edge of technology for long range weather forecasting. It is important to bear in mind that forecasting at this range is still in its infancy so can effectively be considered experimental.
