Just be careful how much bandwidth you use if not on Unlimited!

Re: Live pictures of Earth from the ISS in HD

Hopefully just this:
Quote
Black Scenes = Night side of the Earth; Gray Scenes = Switching to the next camera, or the communications downlink from the ISS in not available at the moment.
The live video feed from HDEV will occasionally be unavailable due to loss of Ku-band transmission from the International Space Station. Please check the site again in approximately 30 minutes.

All I got was a black screen BTW.

Fantastic, thanks.
Works fine for me, on both Chrome & Firefox.
Chrome shows a better RHS image for some reason, main window is excellent high quality on both browsers
Good here too...

Note this, under the main window

I viewed whilst the ISS was in Daylight looking down.

Amazing Full Screen HD, mesmerising...
Looking forwards to seeing the UK in Daylight, and a few other places I know.

Re: Live pictures of Earth from the ISS in HD

I've been seeing reports that the Russians are getting a bit uppity about delivering USA personnel to the ISS.
it might have been a bad idea to scrap the Shuttle and outsource space travel to the Russians.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: Live pictures of Earth from the ISS in HD

BBC Click this week features the ISS, and other Space related items.
The mini satellites look interesting..
Online, On Demand, BBC iPlayer and on TV... ( I presume it's on BBC News, as always )
On BBC World  also.

This might explain the route, I notice it the same route every orbit, moves north over north america, then as it goes east it moves south again over australia, so every time it avoids all of europe including russia.

Re: Live pictures of Earth from the ISS in HD

No it doesn't!
Yellow is the last orbit up to the current position, white is the projection forward to the rest of the current orbit. It moves westward every orbit so about once a day the entire globe (up to the northern and southern limits of the orbit) is covered.

Re: Live pictures of Earth from the ISS in HD

I suggest you check where it is at 4am on Tuesday morning - and then go outside to watch it go over!

Re: Live pictures of Earth from the ISS in HD

I see its moving slightly, its visible from the ground without a telescope?
Also the camera switching is annoying, it doesnt switch at night, but when the sun comes into view I cant watch as it immediatly switches Sad
