Linux for dummies - free download.

Not sure whether to put this here or in the software forum? If a mod feels it would be better moved - please move it. Smiley
Saw this for a free download of Linux for dummies, 9th Edition.  Digital download. Obviously use a throwaway email address, and be 'inventive' with the information you give ( they don't check anything before they send you the download link).  Wink Wink

Re: Linux for dummies - free download.

I thought it was Ubuntu, not an oxymoron.

Get RTOS, that's a man's OS.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: Linux for dummies - free download.

Well, to be honest,I 'know' Linux is an operating system and I believe it is the basis for the android OS on phone (though I'm not too certain on that). Also,I find it highly bemusing (amusing?) listening to people argue as to whether Windows or Linux is the better OS.
However I really have no ideas how it works. That is why I have downloaded it. I thought it may be of interest to someone else...but apparently I'm the only idiot on this forum. Embarrassed

Re: Linux for dummies - free download.

In order of preference for me it's OpenBSD, FreeBSD and Arch Linux in that order.

Re: Linux for dummies - free download.

a few years ago there was something similar posted on a news outlet only the link went to Apple's 10.x download page....

I used to use nix for stuff at work, after 10 years they figured out a way of running it in an emulator on a windows machine and bingo we got rid of 3 defunct terminals and got a single networked unit that did everything
just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you
