Leased Lines Query

First off I don't have a problem with leased lines hence Chit Chat.
Are leased lines such as offered by this Sheffield company still horrendously expensive or have they gone the way of most telecoms and dropped in price to a 'reasonable' level?

Re: Leased Lines Query

Don`t know......  Roll eyes
But reading their "blurb" one does have to wonder what happens to your speed after it reaches their POP.... at 10Gb..... does it then go "back to normal"  and if so, what is the benefit of getting it to the POP at 10Gb? Undecided

Re: Leased Lines Query

It depends on what the connection is used for shutter.
If a business only wants to connect the LANs used in geographically dispersed office locations, it could get (say) a 10Gb line for each office, and as long as the network traffic moving between offices stays inside the Ask4 network they will have the maximum bandwidth that the Ask4 network is offering (which may or may not be 10Gb of course).

Inevitably the final mile will be over BT copper so you don't get away from OverReach
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: Leased Lines Query

A company I'm 'familiar with' has this system installed and I was curious as to how much it is costing them compared to a standard fibre connection.
They don't really have any need for a 10 gig downstream as they mostly browse and email but anything would have been better than the sub 2Mbs broadband they had.
