Leaders' Debate - Clegg v Farage

The first leaders' debate takes place this evening between Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage. It is at 7pm and broadcast by LBC and it is also available on Sky.
It should be an interesting debate.  The outcome could dictate the future of both parties in next year's general election.

Re: Leaders' Debate - Clegg v Farage

At this point I could be extremely rude about a couple of no hopers debating about something over which they will, hopefully, have no influence

Re: Leaders' Debate - Clegg v Farage

Neither of them will end up as Prime Minister as a result of the debate but the outcome could influence who does.

Re: Leaders' Debate - Clegg v Farage

given the lib dems seriously pro EU stance and labour being of the similar message as a party then if Farage pulls this off without coming over as a complete neo Nazi bigot he could seriously sway people into the true blue path and away from the multi-coloured mess of the other two parties (I notice that labour cant even decide what there party's colour is in the last few months, to the point that for national debates they all show up mismatching completely)
lets hope that UKIP doesn't disgrace itself there far better for UK interests as MEP's and clearly don't waste there time voting on matters where they wont influence the process either way .......
@OJ
the main point is to do with facing off for winning the majority of seats as MEP's, and as a tiny teaser of what we might expect in the general election next year
just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you

That's exactly why the debate will be very interesting to watch.
A little leverage will go a long way if the next election is once again a close run thing.

I Thought only a minute was allowed between rounds unless of course one of the boxers (sorry candidates) was unable to finish the round.  Smiley

So why is it just on LBC ?

Clegg has a weekly question/answer slot on LBC and Farage is also often on. The morning presenter, Nick Ferrari, put the idea to both men and they agreed.
LBC is also now on digital radio and I believe on Freesat as well.

Re: Leaders' Debate - Clegg v Farage

The debate certainly is attracting a lot of attention. Over 150 journalists have applied for guest passes for the event. Many of the applications come from European media.  I hope it lives up to the build up it's getting.
