Large Memory Card

My daughter is a prolific taker of photos so should have no trouble filling this one http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-29175093

Nice price tag too

The card, which is the size of a postage stamp, will go on sale for $800 (£490).
The launch comes a decade after the firm released a 512-megabyte (MB) SD card with one-thousandth of the space.
Experts believe SD cards could eventually hold up to 2 terabytes (TB) of data, about 2,000GB.

I could get a couple of PC's etc for that price
What if it gets dropped / lost / nicked etc
@least one could ring their phone for example

Roughly 95p per GB so about average for a decent quality SD card.

Re: Large Memory Card

The price will come down quickly, but I can see this being a popular SD card - particularly amongst professionals.

Re: Large Memory Card

I would never trust all my photo's on say a holiday onto a single memory card.
I use a different SD card each day, then should one fail, I only lose one days pics.
Most tend to get nearly full anyway.

Re: Large Memory Card

It is good to see how photography is developing. Such memories, sigh.

Re: Large Memory Card

Yes...I've gone from a coal cellar, a plastic tray containing developer and a spanner....all the way to Photoshop in less than 55 years.

Mine was in the attic with a section entirely enclosed with bus blinds (the black rolls with the number and destination on, remember them?).
