Laptop

A work colleague is upgrading his laptop from a three year old Toshiba and selling it off, I have been considering it for the sole purpose of flirting with Linux.
Knowing nothing about Linux, can the s/h Toshiba's HD be re-formatted and a clean install of Linux be installed, if I download the Linux to CD/DVD on this PC?
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

Re: Laptop

AS long as you can get it onto the laptop yes.
If the laptop has a CD/DVD drive and you can burn the CD/DVD on your current machine then no problem.
If the machine does not have a optical drive, you'll need a USB drive.
I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
