Ken Dodd

He's 87, and keeps it up for FIVE hours plus !!!
I must go and see him perform before it's too late.....

I've met him a few times at BBC Radio Merseyside (TV) and he always remembers my name, as he does with every single member of staff there.
He always has a joke about any hidden Taxmen on the premises!
He parked in the Boss's secure car park, (before they moved site) whilst he goes shopping, a privilege he is awarded, and he always has time to wander around & chat to staff.
His extra long performance are Legend.

Re: Ken Dodd

A friend of mine went to see him in Blackpool and parked on the hounds hill shopping centre car park, by the time the show finished it was after midnight and the car park was shut, he had to get a taxi home.
Ken Dodd is one of the best comedians going, you certainly get value for money if you go to see him, his shows are always packed.

Re: Ken Dodd

Him and Michael Bentine are two of my childhood favourites. Once watched a tv special of him at Oxford Uni, very funny.

I used to work with Michael on a programme called Potty Time at Thames TV, on a Sunday in the Magpie / Rainbow Studio at Teddington Lock.
He was an exceedingly nice & gentle person, told us many tales throughout each day, a pleasure to work with.
Then, so many old school true professionals were.

Re: Ken Dodd

Yep that was one of my favourite programs, the flea circus acts still crack me up.
Read his bio and have listened to his The Reluctant Jester series.
