Bloke sues Microsoft: Give me $600m – or my copy of Windows 7 back

Now as has been pointed out here, you CAN download a FREE copy of W7 from the Win web site. Then use your pc's sticker to unlock it.

So why has he opened the case? Or is it just the Americans being American?

(mods move this to chit chat if you want)

Good luck to him! I'd laugh if someone at Redmond screwed up and forgot to reply and the guy actually gets an award lol.

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!

Re: Just seen this -

Isn't there a way to revert to Windows 7?  I'm sure I've seen something about it somewhere on my computer.

Furthermore I suspect the licensing agreement for all Microsoft Operating Systems gives them the right to discontinue your licence at any time.  I did read the one for my first computer (Windows 98 ), and it was, as with all such agreements, heavily weighted in Microsoft's favour (which some lawyers might argue constituted an unfair contract).

There is, but you only have a month to click it, so someone would have to be very slow witted to miss it...

Re: Just seen this -

Thanks @twocvbloke for looking that up.  While I was looking for something else on my W7 computer last year (or was it the year before?), I came across a little piece of software that stopped W10 being automatically installed, and used that.  It could easily be inactivated should I later change my mind.  Had I known $600 mill. was on offer, I would have let W10 autoinstall Laugh.

No looking up necessary, that's my own picture I stuck up on instagram a couple years back while trying Win10 on a spare HDD, laptop didn't get on with 10 (driver issues at the time) so I reverted that installation back to 7... Smiley
