Just got told Paypoints do not use increments of £1 anymore & the minimum is £5

I was told the other day by Scottish Power
That as my Electric Meter (Key) P.A.Y.G) is being changed on Friday
I would have to keep the top up to a minimum (No problem I thought)
Just went to my local corner shop (Run by some of our Foreign friends, for many a year) to top up by £3 to last until Friday
They told me that the top up is now a minimum of £5  & they can not accept increments of £1
Has anyone else heard of this or are they pulling my leg ?Huh

Cheers OJ
It looks like it may be company specific as SWALEC does £1 for both or did before I change latter quarter 2013
Therefore a fresh call to Scottish power is in order
No wonder the advisor said keep it to the minimum
Looks like we can only add the £1 incriments in after the 1st £5

You can top up by any amount from as little as £1 for Gas and £5 for Electricity. Any additional credit can only be added in whole pounds, up to a maximum of £49 per transaction.

Edit;
How apt
I just called them on their 0845 2700 0270 number
The auto message states that they are experiencing technical difficulties
Are they stalking oops I mean following my every move Cheesy Roll eyes
