Re: Hilarious pictures reveal some of the worst home fixes ever

Some interesting takes on DIY but only the clock made me smile.
The DM obviously has a far different definition of hilarious than I do Wink

Re: It's a Clock Up

I liked the door bell 'push'
With regard to the car wheel on a kids toy.
Last year a guy up the road from me had a problem with his car where the rear offside brake seized on.
He was offered help by a man at the other end of the road if he could get it down to his garage.
The wheel was remove and a skateboard placed under the seized brake drum.
The car was then driven slowly along the road towards the garage.
Amazingly it managed 3/4 of the way before the wheels on the skateboard collapsed.
The repair was finally completed by the roadside.

@Strat,
That's what is called thinking outside the box !
Not sure why they took the wheel off, would it not have been better to have left it on .?

Re: It's a Clock Up

I think they did but the tyre was punctured and when they put it on the skateboard the tyre hung over the sides and dragged on the road so they took the wheel off.
At one point during the repair I lent them a 32mm socket and a torque wrench to get the nut off the stub axle.
The torque wrench came back in an 'L' shape....it was a crappy one anyway.
