New plan for TV leaders' debates will see Cameron take on Miliband, Clegg, Farage, Bennett, Sturgeon and Wood... but the Cornish nationalists aren't happy

Even more than voters, if the politicians don't reform themselves.

Re: It's 7Up !

Infact why don't we just televise the voters instead and make the politicians watch OUR thoughts and manifestos  Cheesy

Re: It's 7Up !

it would be funny to see all the party leaders face off in a 3 hour debate live on tv, if for no other reason than it would expose certain loony groups for what they are and ensure full proper representation was undertaken at the polls.
I would actually like to see them all present for the event so they can all make total twats of each other, have a rematch a week later and then people can go to the polling booths for the first time ever fully aware of exactly what it is they are voting for, the greens have more dire policies than they do good ones its the same with UKIP, the various nationalist parties have no benefit for the UK as a whole only for their representative nation, which leaves the 3 main parties 1 of them is basically dead in the water leaving you either blue or red if you want your vote to count towards the winner of the next parliament.
the greens are more credible than labour in terms of running the country yet they have some frankly outrageous ideas and no answer for how they would cover the funding gap should they dispose of the royal family (the only reason for a huge number of holiday makers going to London each year)
UKIP stands for some good things but would privatise everything left in public hands including healthcare and education and again cant answer how they would fund various things they claim they would make happen .....

labour hasn't got any answers on anything, claim to have the best interests of the nhs at heart yet cant explain why they have completely failed it in wales despite being in charge their and totally independent of Westminster policies ...... not to mention they are deeply in favour of abandoning national standing and becoming just a localised mouthpiece of the EU as they would hand over all powers to the EUP...
which leaves a reality of tories (possible exit from the EU and staggering on as we are with further cuts and debt restructuring) or liberals borrowing more but at the same time abandoning national identity in favour of closer integration within the EU
as many would say its better the devil you know, and love them or hate them the Tories are so far the only party that would hold a referendum and are capable of running the country weather we vote yes or no in it without needing to privatise anything to pay for it .....

But would they actually hold a referendum about exit from the EU? They have been saying that for longer then I care to remember, we are still waiting!

Re: It's 7Up !

If DC wants to sink the Greens at the debate he could use the guns of the army they intend to abolish or tax them on their proposal the lower income tax band to zero.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: It's 7Up !

well they did try to legislate to have the referendum set in stone but since the two EU collaboration parties voted against that it failed to get put in place, I dare say if they failed to hold one in the time frame set out (after the 2017 re-negotiation talks) then there wouldn't just be public outcry there would be actual riots in the streets.
Cameron has said pretty consistently that a vote for UKIP is a vote for labour and despite Farage's claims to the contrary it does seem more and more that he and Red Ed are acting in cahoots, they both say the same things far too often and UKIP doesn't have any serious policies on governing the country just a big vote grabbing headline statement (vote for us and we will take the country out of the EU) without having a serious immigration policy it boils down to we will kick out everyone that isn't at least second generation British

labour and liberals are both playing down there core strategy of giving away pretty much all remaining power to the EUP (after privatising more of the NHS than they already have done)

just because your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you
