Is this good aka worthy TV?

Victoria Derbyshire says she has no problem being nude at home with her partner and teenage sons, even after her mastectomy and reconstruction. That's not all! She will be in an ITV show, The Ladies Full Monty, revealing all.

I know that VD is not everyone's cup of tea, but that aside, what are your views on the presentation of this and similar shows?

Myself, i am a neutral, "if they want to watch..."

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

Re: Is this good aka worthy TV?

Personally I think it's a mistake ? Why ? Because she has 2 teenage sons and what will the reaction be from some of their mates ?

Anything you do can affect those nearest to you and whilst this is being do with the best of intentions from her point of view I suspect the TV producers are thinking more of raising the viewing figures with what I think is a stunt.

What she does behind closed doors in her home... is her choice...

It should not be deemed necessary to expose herself to the rest of the world expecting them to approve.

If she feels it is a necessary part of her career, and lifestyle,... there are many porn sites she can connect with.

If a group of females want to raise awareness for Breast Cancer good luck to them, VD has the means to make that happen.
Like @Luzern I'm on the fence........

Re: Is this good aka worthy TV?

I guess most women are fully aware of the sighns & symptoms of breast cancer and if they had concerns would go and see their GP or discuss it with one of their friends as I suspect the majority of women will know of someone who has had or possibly had cancer due to finding a lump.

Now if we were to talk about prostate cancer the very opposite applies many men would not discuss it with anyone including the GP until unfortunately the symptoms got so bad treatment would be difficult.

I accept things are changing but funding is way below what it should be for prostate cancer.

@shutter Although things one reads about her could suggest that she's the self promoting type, I'm not so sure of her wanting approval in this case.

There may be a case for some to be educated to the improvements made to surgery over the years.

Some forty years ago my mother, then ~80, had a mastectomy, my wife was present with our infant son, when she revealed her self with the raw scar of the amputation. If women's fear of such disfigurations can be abated, maybe that's not something I should criticise her for.

Not my cup of tea, neither is the lady or this sort of show which borders on perverse voyeurism. Maybe the likes of this should have their own channel on somewhere like Sky?

As for being nude at home. Whatever. Shocked

PS. I could never afford the heating!

@gleneagles Dunno and don't care! Depends on how keen she is to increase or reduce future visits. At least she, being female will not promote an uplifted encounter.

@gleneagles

'About 1 man in 9 will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime. Prostate cancer develops mainly in older men and in African-American men. About 6 cases in 10 are diagnosed in men aged 65 or older, and it is rare before age 40. The average age at the time of diagnosis is about 66'

https://www.cancer.org/cancer/prostate-cancer/about/key-statistics.html

Not saying it does not need to be checked out far from it (I've been checked m'self) but the opposite seems to be that it is nowhere near as common as breast cancer in women?

One man in nine and out of that 6 cases in 10 over 65, so........ fingers crossed, or not as the case may be Smiley

Re: Is this good aka worthy TV?

I never watch Victoria Derbyshire clothed so I doubt I'll search the programme guide to find her nude.  With so many channels, and a fully functioning on/off switch, we really have a choice whether to watch her or not.  I don't even think teenage boys will bother now that the internet caters for all their 'needs' in this area.

The late Keith Chegwin did a nudist quiz show in the nude in 2000: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4jRCfhIUy8
