Is the EU sunk ?

The problems in Greece are well documented and don't need to be expanded upon but the Italian banks are now coming under pressure and it seems that the EU is just playing for time by bailing out countries that will never be free of debt.
In the UK our debt will be higher by 2014 that it is now as politicans have not grasped (or don't want to ) how serious the situation is and are quite happy to continue spending money in areas that have little to do with us whilst at the same time making major cuts in things that effect us directly.
The outcome is that the UK (and EU) will see a rapid decline in standards of living coupled with a dramatic and continous  rise in the cost of living as the pound continues to sink in value so talk of a tough 18 months to 2 years is nonsense, the decline will be a continous process.
I Guess this is nothing new as most societies and organisations seem to reach a peak and then rapidly decline, perhaps it's something to do with refusing to see whats going on and therefore taking no action to stop it.

Is the EU sunk
It should be, see how many millions Brussels wants to spend on a new H.Q and yet they are telling all of the countries to support other member countries who are now in the financial brown and smelly stuff, we are being conned. Angry
