Internet Sales

20 years ago internet shopping was born when the first online transaction took place.
Start of Internet Shopping
The first item sold was reputed to be a CD by Sting - 10 Summoner's Tales

Re: Internet Sales

Looking on Google it appears several items are claimed as being the first thing to be sold on the internet, very difficult to identify truth from reality so we may never know. Wink

Re: Internet Sales

wasn't the first online retail purchase a test transaction a week before the various shop websites went live for regular customers ?

Seriously?  you think he actually knew that.... or was it, perhaps, a scripted question, and he read the answer off the autocue  ?  Roll eyes

Re: Internet Sales

I would suspect that the first online transaction didn't involve any consumer goods. Wink

Re: Internet Sales

Yes I did watch Breakfast this morning. Bill Turnbull certainly knew it Smiley If it was on the autocue the other presenter would have seen it and she certainly didn't know Wink

There is a teleprompter in front of the 2 presenters. They do have earpieces to talk to guests/reporters who are not in the studio.

I also watched this on breakfast this morning, Sally the other presenter today would be better at sticking to doing her normal job which is the sports news, she doesn't know much about that either.

Re: Internet Sales

They've had several of the "Sports presenters" co-presenting the main show since "you know who" left for ITV. I agree they ought to stick to their sports presenting.
Apart from Bill Turnbull, the best presenters are Naga Munchetty, Louise Minchin, Charlie Stayt, Stephanie McGovern and of course Carol Kirkwood for the weather.
John Kay, Mike Bushell and even Sally Nugent aren't too bad.
