If that were true most of Dorsets bridges would have been reduced to dust years ago.
The serene ambiance of Dorset spoiled by visitors from far and wide, just coming to kick the bridges.

A facinating history fragment - some Aussie somewhere, can trace their ancestry back to a Dorset bridge basher.
On the subject of bridge signs, my cash burning council has recently - for health and safety reasons - placed 'Low Headroom' warning signs on all bridges... that cross rivers. This is because canooists were hitting their heads on the bridges - probably as the word "duck " has a different meaning on the water. One assumes canooists can both read and think. Maybe we should transport more people to Australia?
