What I would like to know is if this thing needs "stabilisers" to keep the wingtips off the ground when it takes off, what do they do for landing? Run alongside and slide them under?

Crikey! So it does actually rest on one wingtip for a while. I suppose the pilot has to keep it level until it's fully stationary.

Landing one of those in any sort of a cross wind must be a no no.
And watching it landing reminded me of the few times I had a go in a glider.
