Re: In my best Victor Meldrew impersonation...

Bloody cyclists  Shocked
If it had been a biker or a car driver then we would have been charged for it. About time that INSURANCE was compulsory for cyclists as well! The number that totally IGNORE the highway code and treat the roads as their play areas are just ridiculous. In Edinburgh during rush hour there are cyclists crossing RED traffic lights on to oncoming traffic, weaving through the traffic and generally making a nuisance of themselves, cutting inside lorries etc. It is a wonder more are not killed  Crazy
On the local foot path there are several that treat it like a race track and if they were speed trapped then I guarantee they would be doing more than 30mph! They run up behind you and with no warning flash past, what happened to using BELLS? Or is that so last millennium?

I've never seen so many cycles as there are in Cambridge.  Many of the cycles are rented by under grads during term.  These cycles are registered with the colleges and have an identification number on them.

And what in that story actually gives hint that the cyclist was at fault? perhaps a car had driven recklessly and caused him to swerve into said railings.
Nice to see you taring every cyclist with same brush. get a grip.

Re: In my best Victor Meldrew impersonation...

it would be nice if people looked before criticising, these are the only railing down the road where the accident happened, and it is a dead end road after that

The quote was for cyclists in general, read the rest of my post!
If over 50% act that way then they all get tarred  Tongue It is up to the majority to police themselves as obviously the police aren't interested.

Re: In my best Victor Meldrew impersonation...

I read elsewhere that the reason he lost control was that there were wet leaves on the road.
Wonder if he has a case against the council for them failing to clear them and keep the road in a safe condition?
