Image in message

I have an image on my desktop that I want to drop into a message in the forum but can't get it to work.  How do I do it?  Thanks in advance.

Re: Image in message

if you want it in the body of the message, you first have to place it on a remote server and then clcik the link and place it within the second from left icon over the smilies
other than that, click additional Options below the input box, then go down to browse and locate the image, it will then appear below the output

Re: Image in message

Hi Pierre, Thanks for your quick response.  I've gone to 'additional options' and browsed to find the image on my desktop.  I don't seem to be able to move it into the message box.  Where am I going wrong?

Re: Image in message

bear in mind the size limit if there is one, otherwise it will return an error.

Re: Image in message

I'm trying to upload a 185kb gif file but it still won't work for me.  I tried a test using a jpeg and same result.
Do I have to select the image first from the desktop before clicking the insert image box?
PS i seem to have got the jpeg image to work.  Titled 'Test'

Re: Image in message

a) you will have to change the gif to a jpg or the other options quoted.
b) click browse, navigate to the picture form the opened browser window, select the file and click open
for a free program to change from gif to jpeg, you cant do better than http://www.irfanview.net/
the only problem you will have with the program as an attachment is that you will loose the animations, these are ok with imbedded files and you can use gifs imbedded

Re: Image in message

Pierre, Thanks. What I thought was going to be so simple for me looks like it may require a little time so will try later. Thanks again.

Re: Image in message

Yes, that seems fine.  I just have to convert the one I want to use to one of the acceptable formats.
