Re: If you go down the pub.......

Like the guy (and this is true) going back to playing golf and being told to keep the required distance apart which for some reason meant only three people could be on the course at the same time. Anyway, he was being told this by three people behind the reception desk whio were all standing right next to each other.

All well and good this social distancing but it really is totally impractical if not inpossible in so many situations.

As for actually going down the pub, at the prices they charge for a pint these days?

Err, no thanks. 🤔

I wouldn't go to any pub that like to try and shock people. Sounds a bit barbaric to me.

But I have been known to splash out on an 'expensive' beer - it all depends on what 'extras' you get for it i.e. view etc.

Best I've gone to so far was in Singapore, with one in Bangkok coming a close 2nd. But as usual it all depends on A: the service and B: location i.e. where you're sat.

Ever helpful. Grin Sure, I’d love to help you out. Now which way did you come in?

Well if you do actually want to go to a pub, they've got you over a barrel.

I'll get me coat.

No connection with these guys, but my daughter sent me a few bottles last Fathers Day and the nearest to pub beer I have ever tasted. You have to drink within a couple of days from delivery as it's 'barrel to bottle'  - but what a lovely beer.

And if you have a few too many you haven't got a keg to stand on.

The older I get, the earlier it gets late.

Not so much of a problem for those with hollow legs. Wink

Two ways of getting one heck of a shock, first the price of a pint, second from the electric fence, unless you were smart and wore tinfoil trousers... 😂

Re: If you go down the pub.......

I remeber doing a temp student job.

They we're all moaning we've got to do Pals at Croydon (I didn't know why at the time).

Reason was, is we had to get (full) kegs up two flights of stairs. Nope not down the basement like anywhere else. I was cautious. Some people were carrying them on their shoulders. How the hell did they do that?

Again I am not risking my personal safety and risking causing myself damage. I am thinking of back injuries or dropping it on my foot. If either happened I think I'd know about it.

I just lifted it up one rung at a time up the stairs. Took a bit longer but I am not risking my health for a temp job.

Re: If you go down the pub.......

@Alex

Where was Pals in Croydon?

So many pubs seemed to change their names during the 60s and 70s which leaves me wondering which one that might have been. The only 'upstairs' pub I can recall was the Horn and Trumpet on the corner of Crown Hill and Surrey Street.

Yep @Minivanman

I think so, mind you that was a long time ago.

Good job that was. Easy, you just had to help out a bit.

Mind you trying to lift a full keg saves you going to the gym 😀
