I've failed....

....but maybe you can help?
I keep getting annoying calls from 'Birmingham and Chelsea' school on some automated system telling me my daughter is absent from school, except she doesn't go there and isn't called Mariah.
No amount of Googling has turned up said location of school so I can ring them and correct their mistake.
Anyone got any clue where this school is?

Re: I've failed....

Assume you have tried dialing 1471, to obtain the last number that called you?
other options is the "Telephone Preference Service".... which I believe you have to initiate to stop calls such as thi

Of course if you are not with BT then you need to make arrangements with your provider !
Just done a google, and it seems there is a "likelyhood" of it being in the USA (Alabama) as the first link is to a Chelsea High School, Birmingham, Alabama...
the third link down gives a further clue.....

Hi We are relocating to Birmingham and we are looking at Springville and Chelsea. It seems both have great schools.

Re: I've failed....

Sadly it's to my mobile, it's an 0845 number that when googled seems to be used by many a school.

Yes, Indeedy !... especially as, probably, 90% of people have never heard of Hurlingham, and on a mobile it could very well sound like Birmingham. !    Undecided

Re: I've failed....

My kids' school also has this.  It's quite a good system, but only as good as the school's phone records clearly.  Aside from letting you know if they've bunked off, you can get reminders about none pupil days, school closed due to fire, flood, snow, etc.
Is it worth trying entering the number here http://www.saynoto0870.com/search.php

Re: I've failed....

Indeed that was the right school and bizarrely I could now have all Mariah's phone numbers and parents phone numbers if I'd have written them down...
They have now removed my number which was a number they had with an extra digit on the end, so that should be the last of it.
Thanks again Mrs Chilly Smiley

Oh yes, Josie and Poppy could use some reinforcements.
Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.
