I sanded my face this morning, and I feel great!

I’m not vain, but I was given some Man Cave toiletries as a gift, so as they were closer to hand than a new bar of soap (I was in the shower when I realised there was no soap left) I thought I’d open them and I decided to use what was described as ‘Olivestone Face Scrub’.

Normally I’d use Dove soap, but what a difference this stuff made, granted sanding your face with finely ground olive stones is bound to feel different but after rising it off I can ‘feel’ my face, and my skin is, dare I say, smother as a result. It’s hard to explain but to put it in a finely ground nutshell I’ll be using this again as my skin still feels different even now 45 minutes after my shower.

Do you use similar stuff, or are you Cold Tar soap and flannel person?

Beauty is in the eye of the advertising agency staff...

No, I would not use any "man" type beauty treatment... I`ve lived with this skin and bones for 3 score years and 12 !  and I haven`t had any complaints..

and No.. I don`t use Coal Tar soap, or a Flannel.either... !

I used to be a Pears soap and flannel type until about 5 years ago, but found my skin becoming greasy and that no longer working, so now, after experimenting, find that 'Simple' facial wash and a sponge work best.

Well in my life time I too have never bought any 'beauty product' other than shampoo and soap. But as it was free (I don't know if there was a subliminal hint behind the gift) I thought I'd try it, I'll use it again but as for paying cold hard cash for it I don't know. I still had to leave the shower anyway to get the soap as it turned out! Didn't fancy washing my body in it!

@Mook

Hope it does not contain micro beads the government were planning to ban as they are bad for the environment.

@gleneagles, Nope, just ground up olive stones from what I can gather, but if it were micro beads I wouldn't have used it I saw the same article you're alluding to.

Coal Tar until the Mrs banned it. Used to love the stuff.

As for gritty soap, I seem to recall coming across it years ago and it never went down well round the nether regions.

I do remember Coal Tar soap it had quite a pungent smell, speaking of that one thing I am confident about would be the ability to identify Vosene and TCP just by their smell. Mind you who couldn't they were some of the 'go to' items when I was a child.

If you leave the label on and you're careful with it you can use it and end up with a soap mushroom cloud!

I use Palmolive Massage Shower Gel with Dead Sea Salt and Aloe Vera. It really refreshes and helps get rid of the dead flaky skin my face seems to be prone to. Plus you only need a little at a time.

Maybe it's not what you think it is @Mav, it could simply be dried salt crystals from yesterday's shower!

And as salt is used to cure meat, I'd be inclined to try something else like this.

@Mook Are you intending to do some wider ranging research? Funny

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.
