I'm not normally optimistic but......

I'm not normally optimistic, but the Korean summit has to be good news surely.

Like the Berlin Wall this separation has always been part of my life as a 1940's baby boomer living through the cold war and of course, the tragedy that was Vietnam.

Lets hope it ends in unity for this nation and it's people.

Re: I'm not normally optimistic but......

There must be a hell of a lot of negotiations going on behind the scenes.

Suitcases full of money must be changing hands and trade agreements being signed.

Maybe we should get over there and sign a few of our own.

When Trump says good things are happening he probably means a lot of money is heading to America.

Re: I'm not normally optimistic but......

I'm sure they tried being friends back in the 90s, opening up transport links between the two nations, didn't take long to fall apart again due to the establishment-ingrained distrust of western capitalist piggery in NK...

Well give the guy of the north his due if he pulls this off.

Maybe he's not quite the mad Muppet the press in the west have made him out to be.

Re: I'm not normally optimistic but......

There is a report that the N Korean nuclear testing and production plants have been disabled or destroyed by underground earthquakes, possibly triggered by their own underground weapons testing.

I don't know if its true, but it might be a reason for the sudden apparent thawing of N Korean relations with the south, and Trump.

Experience; is something you gain, just after you needed it most.

When faced with two choices, simply toss a coin. It works not because it settles the question for you. But because in that brief moment while the coin is in the air. You suddenly know what you are hoping for.

...... or maybe the presence of America’s Pacific Third Fleet, headed by the Carl Vinson.

Haven't we got one like this knocking around somewhere? Roll eyes
