I'm loving my new landline phone

Tonight I have had 4 calls from 02034117021, a number well documented on various nuisance calls sites.
I have a new landline phone and one of it's facilities is a 'blacklist'.
After the caller's 3rd attempt I selected the number and hit 'add to blacklist' Cool
The options are 'receive the call silently (no ring)' or 'present the caller with an engaged tone'.
I wish I'd had this years ago.

Re: I'm loving my new landline phone

I am registered with the TPS & I rarely get calls from unsolicited caller(s)
Mobile gets at least 3 - 5 per month

Re: I'm loving my new landline phone

I'm also registered with the TPS and receive around 3 or 4 per day from withheld or International sources.
The number I quoted above is regarded as a spoofed number from an overseas source.

Re: I'm loving my new landline phone

Also on TPS and re-register each year but I still get spam from Solar panel companies, to the point they fill up my answer phone with messages. So what phone?
edit: need new glasses, didn't see the embedded link
edit mk2: ouch you get what you pay for, £70 with p+p

I can also enable 'rejection of anonymous calls' and I might do that yet.
Problem is most government departments I have dealt with withhold their number Undecided

Not on TPS and get 4 or 5 a month and about the same on the mobile.

I agree, as we tend to forget about the local(ish) shopping centre(s) / Malls, that some are now on the interweb Wink

Re: I'm loving my new landline phone

It shows how telephonic standards have slipped over the years. In the good old days one's butler would have dealt with unwanted callers.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.

Re: I'm loving my new landline phone

Compared to the 1900's butlers in virtually every other household with the maids et al
These days
There are not that many butlers for a variety of reasons / nothing to do with telephone standards

Butlers don't crash as a rule but are expensive to run.
