Re: -I, I, 2, 3,10,11,T,L,i

I'll play anyway after having had a thunk.

"-1" might be some sort of pre-release version.

SO possibly software of some sort? Although they don't all look like software version numbers.

The only other thing I can think of offhand is a socket series as it has been developed. (Socket to me?)

Too obvious though?

It's not USB. . .

Re: -I, I, 2, 3,10,11,T,L,i

I spent a great deal of yesterday trying to solve this, too hot to do anything else.

I looked at mathematical sequencing. I also looked at computer characters and symbol sets, -1 doesn’t work anywhere. I looked at keyboards, computers, typewriters, calculators - both normal and scientific. Again -1 is the problem. Now on to dials.  Gas fires, ovens, washing machines , dryers, central heating etc. Next it’s the car, seem to remember the dial on the air conditioning has strange sequence markings.  not a lot to do today as it’s still too hot....

Re: -I, I, 2, 3,10,11,T,L,i

Is this some sort of logical series, or is it something obscure like model numbers that can be anything?

I can't see any sort of logical sequence there. (Which doesn't mean there isn't one of course)

Just think, if we were members of parliament we could claim the time spent doing this on expenses.

Let me see, that's ten seconds at twenty pence an hour and take away the first number you thought of and.... well I make that £95.50p exactly.

Just to clarify the first two characters...   are they minus I (upper case letter I) and upper case letter I? Or minus one and one?

Re: -I, I, 2, 3,10,11,T,L,i

Unless @Anonymous made a mistake which I doubt...

It reads minus lower case l and not minus one which would/should have been been written as -1

Minus l means nothing unless it is assigned to something else, whereas -1 is exactly that.

Well spotted.

Re: -I, I, 2, 3,10,11,T,L,i

It's not minus lowercase I but minus uppercase I (-I) as the only lowercase i is the last character in the 'sequence' implying there is a distinction between them.

Nice of you to offer, I've already spent over 300 hours on this so that's. . .

£4.7 million.

I'll PM you my Paypal address. . .

Well spotted!

Makes even less sense as a sequence now though! :cheesy:

Is it some scientific representation of the shades of green turning to brown regarding a lawn that's not watered during a hosepipe ban?

-I, I, 2, 3,10,11,T,L,i

-I and I are not numbers.

2, 3 and 10 are numbers, but in a different form.

(Think binary/Latin)

T, L and i are as seen.

Nope.

And it's not a Mensa question, though it could be !

(Yes, I am a member)

It's much closer to home for most people!

Answer Friday if not solved by then. (maybe)

Don't be defeated.

Thought you'd applied the ignore filter to me too?!?!?!?!

Mensa too?? and you still can't work out why certain members here react to you the way they do? Next thing we know you'll also be a Doctor (or professor), had multiple companies that all pay you millions every year, been best friend to James Bond, dined with the queen and been special advisor to the PM.

You sound like @thisoldman if i'm honest..

I need a new signature... i'm bored of the old one!
