The older I get, the earlier it gets late.

I hear Pavarotti is selling his camper van, it's a Nissan Dorma.

Re: Humour

Forgive me! This is not humour, but it is uplifting to see the youngsters' enthusiasm.

No one has to agree with my opinion, but in the time I have left a miracle would be nice.

Re: Humour

Which warped individual decided that a speech impediment in which a person misarticulates sibilants should be called a lisp?

Re: Humour

Probably the same one who suggested Jonathan Ross should refer to "J. Arthur Rank, the founder of the Rank Organization" on his show.

Re: Humour

@Jonpe

Is that a lisp he has? I thought it was more a speech impediment.

Wabbit for rabbit is not the same as thleep for sleep.

Just thaying. 🙂

Re: Humour

Yes, I wouldn't call it a lisp, but ill-advised nevertheless.  It's referred to as a lisp in this article about Roy Jenkins (founder member of the SDP):  "When Jenkins left for Europe, with David Marquand in tow, he famously told a meeting of Labour backbenchers that he ‘left without rancour’. Given Jenkins lisp (he was often referred to as ‘Woy’) the word rancour came out sounding rather different: at which point, the Beast of Bolsover himself, Denis Skinner, quipped, ‘I thought you were taking Marquand with you’."

For those people who believe the development of the wheel went from nothing to round, here is evidence to the contrary.
There were intermediate steps.
