How old do you think it is ?
How much is it worth?

Any idea of size? If it's about 15 inches, I'd say it was part of a ceramic bathroom set, Value could depend if the rest of the 'set' is with it.

all appear to be Whisky Jugs.
Judging by the size I'd guess it’s more likely to be a water jug with a 1 litre capacity, bit big for a wine or spirit decanter could be possibly a child’s bathroom set, but a bit small, the six concave sides make it distinct, more than likely moulded.
Again purely a guess, I’d say it is too fancy to be English, being litres (guess), I say European I’d plump for Spanish and I’d say a water jug, part of a dinner service.
Any markings on the base, like country of origin?

Re: How well do you know your antiques - ceramics

Year of manufacture 1870-87
http://www.thepotteries.org/mark/d/davenport.html
I was well out with the country
http://www.antiquepottery.co.uk/Lusterware.php has some example of same period
http://search.rubylane.com/search?ss=davenport 1st on page looks similiar, not so ornate

Best bet is to email Steve Birks enquiries@thepotteries.org with a photo of both the Jug and the mark.

the details of the davenport jug i have from a dealer online are

A large, porcelain jug of hexagonal baluster form, produced at the Davenport factory, around 1840. Each facet lined with rich gilding and blue enamel, topped by gilt edged leaves. A large blue and gilt leaf forming the jug spout and a sweeping scroll handle. The base is marked with (the crowned Davenport/ Longport/Staffordshire mark, in puce..__)
