Police chase a 76-year old woman traveling at 10 mph
Colchester : United Kingdom | Oct 07, 2011 at 1:42 AM PDT

Caroline Turner, a 76-year old pensioner driving a Ford Fiesta took the police force on a really extraordinary chase - no, it was not a wild goose chase, there was no goose about but fleets of vehicles coming from the opposite direction.
It seems she had taken a U-turn and landed up on the wrong side of the highway. The patrol police tried to flag her down but she continued unperturbed – she maintained a speed of 10 to 20 mph and kept dodging the approaching cars. The chase went on for 27 miles – and finally one of the policemen got down from his car, walked up to her and tapped the window. That was only when she realized that it was the police…
She had to ultimately spend the night in the local police station of Thorpe, Essex because the police did not want her to continue on her journey at night – they feared she might meet with an accident.

When the policeman jogging alongside shouted at the pensioner to pull over, she initially refused, saying: ‘There’s nothing to discuss. I’m going home.’

Re: How slow can you drive?

It was funny listening to her on the BBC Essex this morning, she could not see what she had done wrong, and didnt seem to know what the interviewer was asking.

I wonder how many of her children or grandchildren were happy to go in her car? Have we heard anything from them? I suspect they might be pleased she has be taken off the road!

I Suspect this statement could also apply to a number of other people including MP's
