if you live on a flood plane your probably watching the E.A. alert messages rather than some websites who's accuracy your not able to rely on, all those people who claimed to have been caught out last year then admitted to ignoring there text alerts ....

Re: How deep is your river?

You under the sea then?
The Tweed is at 14CM!
Locally the water is at a very low ebb about 1-2M back from the banks.
Mind you I am about 100M ABOVE the water level, no chance of flooding here.

The Shoothill GaugeMap is the first interactive map with live river level data from over 2,400 Environment Agency river level gauges in England and Wales.
The extensive network of river level gauges across England and Wales covers all the major rivers as well as many smaller rivers, streams and brooks. The data displayed on each of the river level gauges on GaugeMap is recorded at 15 minute intervals by the Environment Agency.

Re: How deep is your river?

The EA gauge on a local river is also where kayakers test their whitewater skills when river levels are right. So will save petrol going to the river after heavy rain to find levels are still too low.

Re: How deep is your river?

if they were reliable the map wouldn't be covered in white flags (which denotes inaccurate / connection failure)

Yep I suppose you're right. It can only be as accurate as the Environment Agency data Sad
