How NOT to launch a new speed tester

Top 10 Broadband has launched a new speed tester that promises to show not only your own speed but also the speeds of neighbours (based on postcode).
They seem to have made one massive miscalculation: if you are going for a big launch make sure you have the capacity to handle it!

Re: How NOT to launch a new speed tester

For my exchange, based on speed, Plusnet are in 11th place; 8 of the top 10 offer speeds up to 20MB. No date has been set for 21CN/WBC on the exchange so that information is totally misleading! Sad

Due to overwhelming demand, we have had to pause our new StreetStats and speed test tools for the time being.
We are working flat out to get everything working again, so please check back later!

Speed your line supports:    Up to 4.5Mb

Does this mean that my 7360kbps  sync speed ( 6000kbps profile) will have to be reduced accordingly  Roll eyes

Re: How NOT to launch a new speed tester

Put in my Plusnet details and was quoted lower price than my £5.99/month - only thing was that it was AOHell and price jumped after 3 months - perhaps they can't distinguish between Market 3 exchanges and others  Wink

Re: How NOT to launch a new speed tester

Odd, it too says I can get 20Mb from Virgin and BT?  Sam Knows doesn't err know about Virgin LLU (neither do I come to that) - not that I'd ever switch to Virgin!  Pretty sure I can't get 20Mb though, is the Virgin one built on 21CN?
