Re: Holidays, Where have you been or going

Hello I'm visiting Sydney for the first time in October for a week. Does anyone know of any decent  apartments in the Sydney area? They seem to be either really expensive with pools or cheap and grungy. Cheers Smiley

I love holidays in the UK but i love going abroad just as much, its the hassle of the airport and getting there that does my head in .

Tell me about it, I haven't flown amywhere in 3 years because I just can't be doing with the hassle and the queues. Since then been to Newquay, Blackpool and Llandudno in the UK and by ferry to Holland and Sweden. Travelling by sea is far more relaxing, it may take longer to get there but there's no cramped airline seats.

Re: Holidays, Where have you been or going

And there are still a couple of night-time sleeper rail services in the UK too... I've always thought it'd be lovely to, say, fall asleep on a train in London then wake up to see the Scottish Highlands whizzing past your cabin's window. Having said that, sleeper trains are more of a convenience than a luxury - from what I hear they're pretty 'no frills'. Has anyone here actually tried travelling on one?

Re: Holidays, Where have you been or going

We went to Ibiza for 2 weeks in May. It was fantastic. Nice and quiet before the main season kicked off.
We're going to the slightly less hot Berwick in about 2 weeks, I'm looking forward to that and then we're off to Butlins round about bonfire night for a few days.

I haven't left Glasgow except for an afternoon at Ayr beach! Sad
Last time I had a holiday was about 5 years ago! *hint hint* Roll eyes
