I have a hi def ready TV 720 p but not plugged it into an HD source as yet.
Seen a demo in a sony shop and it does look impressive though.

Has anyone done a visual comparison of a 720p, a 1080p and a 1080p 100Hz
If I can persuade my current main TV to die I will go for a 1080p 100Hz.

Yes a very long row!
American TV is absolute crap, I hardly ever look at it.
I watched the Eagles play the Seahawks at the weekend in a bar. This place has 32 televisions!
The commercials amaze me, they seem to be mostly for medicine and health care.
I saw one the other day for treatment of erectile dysfunction, which apparently affects a lot of  Americans  Grin

I always look at stuff with a technical eye.

I get it now
