But while temperatures will climb further on Friday, there could be more puddle-hopping than sausage-barbecuing.

1. an air mass of high temperature covering an extended area and moving relatively slowly.
2. a period of abnormally hot and usually humid weather.

I don't consider the start of summer to be "abnormally hot", and I don't consider 22 to 24 Degrees Celsius to be high temperature, so someone's talking bow locks in the media (and others repeating it too!!)...

Whilst we were out, a Mystic Magic Mega Washing & Drying event occurred...
Wonder how that happened ?

Sheets, Duvet covers washed & changed.
8 washing machine loads apparently.
Mattresses turned over.. and it's still a glorious day at 5pm.
Excellent preparation for our trip next week...

The 3.5 Tog quilt was a good decision.
Today is supposed to be the hottest day of the year yet...
Clear Blue sky this morning, with a nice orange glow to the dawn...
But, Shepherds warning
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/learning/learn-about-the-weather/how-weather-works/red-sky-at-night
The mercury is set to hit 26ºC (78.8ºF) in the South East today, beating this year's previous record high of 25.6ºC (78.08ºF), which was registered in Faversham, Kent, on 15 April.
The warm temperature will come only after thunderstorms and heavy showers are expected to hit, prompting the Met Office to put out yellow weather warnings for rain in London and south-east England, the East of England, East Midlands and Yorkshire and the Humber.

Isn't that a bit over kill aircon & open windows? You are loosing the benefit of the aircon having the windows open.
