Heathrow Airport Closed.

Heathrow Airport has been closed after a major incident.  It was a fire on board of an Ethiopian Dreamliner. The Dreamliner has just been re-introduced to service after planes around the world had problems with fires.  I don't think I'd want to fly on one for a while.
If you're planning to fly out of Heathrow be prepared for a long wait.

Re: Heathrow Airport Closed.

You would think that they would have sufficient fire fighting reserves to keep flights going as the plane isn't even ablaze

Re: Heathrow Airport Closed.

Apparently the hole in the top of the fuselage is where the crew rest area is.

Re: Heathrow Airport Closed.

Thrre certainly appears to be some issues with the Dreamliner.  It wouldn't surprise me if the FAA or the CAA grounded the fleet again.

Re: Heathrow Airport Closed.

The Dreamliner should be grounded permanently and sent off to the Scrap Yard.

Re: Heathrow Airport Closed.

Why do you say that Gary?  They have ad some problems with it since launch but technically it's a well designed plane.

Noooo.....  it's a brilliant piece of modern engineering. The Heathrow fire is rumoured to have been a problem with a drinks heater left on in the galley. Not exactly grounds for scrapping the whole fleet.

Re: Heathrow Airport Closed.

The plane has shown that it is unsafe, so on them grounds it should be terminated as a safe form of transport, and sent to the Scrap Yard, I for one would never fly in a plane that has shown that it is not 100% safe to use, I know that no plane is 100% safe to use but that one is not even 60% safe to use for public transport.

The most dangerous part of a plane is the nut on the joystick.
Now Zen, but a +Net residue.
