Health Lottery - Bonus Ball query

from this...

How do I play The Health Lottery?

It’s easy and only costs £1 to play each line.

For each line, choose five numbers between 1 and 50.

on this page    https://www.healthlottery.co.uk/players-guide/

How or Where does the player get the "bonus ball"  ?

The lottery result for Saturday 8 Dec 2018 shows

11       16       17      20    35      49

So, according to the above "how do I play ... "

... the first five numbers are the "choice"...and number 49 is the "Bonus Ball"...

. where did it come from... who chooses it...

There is no mention of it on the players copy of the ticket.

.and the number does not appear on the players copy of the ticket...

. and I could not find any reference to it on the web site...

Re: Health Lottery - Bonus Ball query

My understanding is that you make your selection of 5 balls for any single line. Then on the draw date the Lottery draws a total of 6 balls with the 6th being the bonus.

For example; if you selected balls 1,2,3,4,5 for your line and the 5 balls drawn in the 'main' Lottery draw are 1,2,3,4 and 6 you have won 250. However, if the 6th or 'bonus' ball is 5 you win 10K.

Even though you match what is in fact the 5 main balls you don’t get the Jackpot as they weren’t all drawn in the main draw, as you needed the ‘bonus’ ball to bring your £250 up to 10K, so without the bonus ball being drawn you would only have had 4 out of 5.

I hope this makes sense.

Re: Health Lottery - Bonus Ball query

I don't play the Health Lottery but I assume it's like the National Lottery game now known as Lotto where you select six numbers from 59 and they draw seven from 59, the last one being the bonus ball.  The bonus ball only matters if you have five of the main numbers and increases your prize from £1,750 to ONE MILLION POUNDS!

I thought I'd play the Lotto for two weeks in the hope of winning something before Christmas; last Wednesday I had the bonus ball only, and yesterday I had two main numbers so I get a free Lucky Dip ticket in the next draw.  Btw if I don't win anything on the Lucky Dip ticket, can I demand a refund under the Trade Descriptions Act since it wasn't as described, i.e. lucky?
