Hayfever

The hay fever season is back !!

For us, it's tree pollen that is the culprit.

We are surrounded by trees, which doesn't help at all.

What does help are the newly renewed pollution filters on the cars, which for April will run on recirculate.

Also, whenever possible, we venture out when it is raining.

And at times of day when the pollen count is low.

We also have anti-histamines & Nasal sprays, which all help.

And of course, staying indoors in our air  filtered environment with HEPA filters.

Plus all the usual advice, not hanging washing out, and thoroughly washing after any trip outdoors.

What do you do ?

Re: Hayfever

As a kid I used to get it bad. As an adult mostly just a sniffle.

I put it down mainly to stopping using all the various anti hayfever stuff.

As they say about many allergies. Smallish doses of what ails you eventually cures you. Or you at least become resistant to the worse effects.

No hay in Wales, not that I've seen anyway...... apart from Hay-on-Wye. Roll eyes

Re: Hayfever

For some reason, when I travel abroad, I don't get affected by Hay Fever.
One of my favourite places is the Flower Forest in Barbados.
There is a "Sweet" smell all over the Island, I wonder what that could be !!
Anyway, even in the Flower Forest, no hay fever, despite lots of pollen laden flowers !
If ever you visit Barbados, you must visit the Flower Forest...

Re: Hayfever

If ever we visit Barbados eh, must try and fit that in between my next trip on the Trans-Siberian express, and a planned paddle down the Amazon - or should I wait until afterwards. Wink

Fully agree.

As a young lad I spent time on a farm haymaking so you can imagine how bad I was with hayfever, these days I am no longer bothered with it, at least one advantage of getting old !
