Has Summer finally started ?

In the last week, here in Derbyshire, we've had glorious days of Sunshine, Thunderstorms, Hailstones and Lightning !!
At around 4am this morning, the sky was filled with brilliant Orange clouds, which have now at 5:30am all disappeared, to be replaced by a deep Blue Sky.
Forecast Sunny for the next few days here.

Re: Has Summer finally started ?

Went for a half day out in Buxton today.
Brilliant Hot Sunshine when I left home, so I wore a short sleeved shirt.
Got to Buxton, the Sun had disappeared, it was very chilly with a cold wind.
So, I did what I often do when I visit Buxton, bought a Charity Shop Fleece !
A teeny bit small, but really nice & thick.
Why a Charity Shop Fleece ?
I buy the Fleece, wear it for the cold day, then donate it to another local Charity Shop, for a donation from a.n.other.
So the Charity Shops win twice !!

(A lightweight hooded fleece now lives in the boot of the Hybrid.)

Arrived back home, (15 minute trip) and it was brilliant Hot Sunshine...
Go figure.

Another Glorious day in prospect here...
Grass is nice & dry here, just a bit of Morning Dew.
Looks nice, but just a little too long, so after lunch, when it's dried out, out will come the lawnmower.
The Green bin for garden waste is near to the Bees, but they haven't troubled me yet....
I leave the lid slightly ajar with a stick, allows moisture to escape, so no mouldy cuttings, and the evaporation of water makes the bin quite a bit lighter, and spacious.
The level of the garden waste drops quite a lot, to around half.

I was down at Wellesbourne Mountford at the weekend - lovely weather forecast for the w/e  - Friday night surrounded by heavy thunderstorms, Sat & Sun over cast for the main part with a few light showers and quite breezy at times.
