Re: Has PlusNet been hacked ?

Look at the email headers and see what the IP address of the originating sender was and which email server it was sent through.

Re: Has PlusNet been hacked ?

I received one as well but it was to my workplace email address.
See attached image
It has been sent to my Outllok Web Access account and the link in the message body directs you to an error page,
Is this connected?

Re: Has PlusNet been hacked ?

Thought I hadn't received any, checked my spam folder and there was one from the 29th.
Gmail just spammed it for me, unless I had checked I would never have seen it.  Grin

Re: Has PlusNet been hacked ?

Sounds like backscatter, a common form of spam. I wouldn't be overly concerned by this.

Probably because the title was a question (not a statement that they had been hacked) and the question was answered by other members that it was just common spam and nothing to do with Plusnet.

What are PlusNet doing to eradicate spammers using your brand name ?Huh
If & I quote, is not acceptable on the forums, what about outside the forums ?Huh
[quote= http://community.plus.net/forum/index.php/topic,218.0.html#post_derogatory]Derogatory Names
The modification of Plusnet or associated brand names by substituting, removing or adding letters is not needed to make a serious point and is not acceptable on the forums.
Where such an action takes place the moderators will correct the change either manually or automatically and where appropriate advise the poster by PM.

Re: Has PlusNet been hacked ?

We monitor our email platforms and if we identify anyone abusing it by sending spam etc then we will contact them to resolve the issue. If the spam is from a different ISP then there isn't a huge amount we can do as email address spoofing is hard to stop.
The forum rules have no relevance in this instance.

If they are reported to us, then we can contact their abuse teams.
