Harvey Nichols taking the preverbial...?

Harvey Nichols spark outrage with 'disgusting' advertising campaign show women wetting themselves
Quote
The glossy poster depicts a woman who has apparently - and there is no delicate way of putting this - wet her pants with excitement.

Quote
But the Knightsbridge store's latest mailshots have angered some more sensitive shoppers who have branded them 'crass' and off-putting.

I found the ad quite funny and not offensive at all.
What do others think? A decline in standards or just a bit of humour?
Edit: bare in mind that there is a photo of a man, too, just to even things up a bit  Roll eyes

Re: Harvey Nichols taking the preverbial...?

I think it was fairly humorous, and given what other advertisers use I'm not sure what the fuss is about.

What would really be funny is if a fair amount of people went into their stores and left a few puddles on the floor Tongue

I'm no longer surprised at what we are being brainwashed into thinking is acceptable.
Is there even such a thing as "standards" anymore?
I'm sure this ad will be regarded as a real hoot by the binge drinking women sitting in the gutter outside night clubs.

Well, there is a saying...... there`s no such thing as "bad press"....
it is all advertising, and promotion of the brand.....
Personally, I think it is quite revolting.... and I wonder what the "models" must have been thinking to agree to being made to look like that.... perhaps the paycheque was enough to keep them "sweet" about it....
( a bit like EH at the ESC  Roll eyes )
( As an aside to the above.... I would never have been made aware of it (the advert) if it had not been put on this forum.... well done to the O.P. for increasing the coverage  Undecided  )

And it's bunkum. The publicity Gerald Ratner got didn't do him much good did it?
