Ok I am about 12 hours early - yes sorry to start such a thread before I get told off. 

Mind you Australia must be soon what with the time difference?

Just to wish the staff, mods and everyone else a happy new year.

I am not doing much, I'm going to a pub 1 minute walk from my house and spending it with a friend over midnight. Yes I like where I live

A nice feelgood factor today to start the year off well.

London put on a fantastic fireworks display at midnight announcing 'London is Open'. The display cost £2.3m to produce and this will certainly be an investment that will pay off in extra business to the Capital.

We then had another great display later in the day with the London Parade. 'London Welcomes the World' was the theme of the parade which had 10,000 participants from all over the world.
