Happiness is now.....

..... having a less than average value property.

The Conservative manifesto proposes that those with houses worth less that £100,00 will be free from defined assets when it comes to paying for social care - not that I expect to be in need of it any time soon or, that I will not go to into the great beyond at a time of my choosing, but it's good to know that my kids will at least get something from my estate as out little cwtch here in west Wales would struggle to get more than that if it was sold. Add to, some time back now we had it written into our will that on the death of one of us (yep, it's going to happen) ownership of half the house passes equally to our four children through a 'tenants in common' agreement - and with the best will in the world they cannot make you half a house.

Having said all that need many of us worry as I'm sure the numbers of us wrinklies actually finishing up bored to bonkers in one of those places is actually quite small percentage wise.

Free Severn crossing, Brexit in safe hands, and now safe houses for some - it looks like those nasty Tories are going to get a lot of votes from my neck of the woods.

PS. Yes I know about presenting any bill for social care to our children, but the best of luck with that Wink

Sadly your 'I'm alright Jack, *** the rest of you' attitude seems to be par for the course for Tory voters. Shame on you.

Re: Happiness is now.....

Why all right Jack? Because I own my house after paying through the nose for forty years at an interest rate that at one time hit 17%?

Get your facts right buddy and read my past posts. I've been a Labour man all my life, Union rep and a political activist. Blair high-jacked and then screwed the Labour philosophy party good and proper and whilst I'm in tune and always have been with the politics of Corbyn, in my humble opinion the man is too little too late and leads a party tainted by those so called centralist champagne socialist à la Mandy Mandelson.

You vote Labour regardless if you want to, here in Wales we now have a credible alternative to both them and the Tories whilst at the same time mourning the loss of a once great party that is now out of touch, and out of time.

Is there hope for the future of socialism in Britain? There is, but you'll see blood on the floor first mark my words but in the meantime, this Brexiteer is more than happy to see May steer a stinking ship away from the shackles of the EU, and shame on you for not being able to that see beyond your nose.

That explains the smell last night, and I thought it was a neighbour's barbecue!

I am not your 'buddy' and have no desire whatsoever to be so, thank you.

You claim to be 'a Labour man' all your life, but elsewhere say you have stood for election as an independent. So either not much of 'a Labour man' or not very good at lying. I will leave others to decide which it is.

From looking through your posts, I suspect you are just attention seeking. There's no consistency in what you say - just anything to get a reaction. Buddy.

Re: Happiness is now.....

Ken Livingstone stood as an independent to become Mayor of London and I don't think anyone would accuse him of not being a Labour man.

See, how typical is that twisting what others have said to your own ends (and not split either I hope), I said "Red Ken", not "REDKEN" Wink
