Hancock's Half Hour...

Hancock's half hour... or is that being to generous. 😉

Re: Hancock's Half Hour...

One would hope so, but it'll go on for a bit longer yet is my guess - unlike his job. Not saying he'll be sacked from government but he will be shifted as let's face it his position is pretty untenable.

Re: Hancock's Half Hour...

Apparently the woman involved was appointed to a post which pays a £15,000 salary for 15-20 days work per year.  A nice little earner IMO.  Huh Angry

I think she was already worth more than bob or two, not that it should make any difference.

Re: Hancock's Half Hour...

An even bigger question might be security.

It is claimed these pictures came from a security camera……what other things relating to security might have been recorded and passed on to other interested parties for money ?

If he’d kept his hands there rather than letting them stray elsewhere he would not be in this mess.

Re: Hancock's Half Hour...

As I understand it he is being criticised for breaking COVID-19 regulations (which he himself introduced so there can be no valid excuse), not for his relationship with this particular woman.  I notice the BBC article uses the word guidelines but in other articles they are rules or restrictions.

Re: Hancock's Half Hour...

How does he find the time to be doing this, must have some spare time on his hands.

Also worth remembering that the average person found doing this at work would be dismissed.

Yes he might be classed as self employed but we are the ones paying his salary.

What he does in his own time is up to him but not while he is supposed to be working.

If his wife can’t trust him why should anyone else….

All he's got to say is that she was in his support bubble. End of.

Unfortunately we're living in times where MPs can do whatever they like and nobody enforces the law against them. This is very slowly changing but the police are too scared of politicians en masse. They'll take down the odd one here and there but that's it.

Ultimately i feel sorry for his wife.

@7up

"Ultimately I feel sorry for his wife"

.... and his kids.

Reading earlier on wiki that he does not allow them to use social media. How he manages that I don't know, unless they are very young.

His household would surely already be in a support bubble, and you only be in one.

I can now empathize with the man.... neither of us have to get up for work on Monday morning!

Re: Hancock's Half Hour...

On Andrew Marr this morning the issue seems to be the positioning of cameras, and that this will be reviewed.  Create blind spots where ministers can behave inappropriately without being found out perhaps?
