Re: Halogen Oven, any tips ?

Using a halogen oven can help save you time and money on your energy bills. It's a very quick, easy and convenient way to prepare meals. Halogen ovens make use of advanced heating technology using halogen bulbs and a high speed fan to cook your foods at a hot temperature without drying it out. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your new oven.
The first tip is to make sure you read the operating instructions that came with your new kitchen appliance carefully. You may have also been provided with some recipes or cooking instructions and guidelines. This information will help you get the most out of your new oven.
Remember that you can still cook all of your favorite foods that you would normally cook in a regular oven. You won't need to alter any of the ingredients. A halogen oven can broil, roast, bake, grill, steam, air fry, dehydrate or barbecue food. The main differences will be the cooking temperatures and times. The first thing to do when adjusting these is to consult with the instructions that came with your new oven.
You can also find halogen-type oven cookbooks and recipes. If these aren't available you can use the rule of thumb that food will take approximately 40-50% less time to cook and you can set the temperature about 10% lower using a halogen oven to start with. Because food cooks in a clear glass bowl you will be able to keep an eye on it.
It's important to take good care of your new halogen oven. Fortunately they are very easy to clean and care for. Most come with a self cleaning feature. You can also place the glass bowl in your dishwasher for a thorough cleaning. Just avoid submerging the lid in water as that is where the heating elements are.

Thanks for that, the instruction book (all SIX pages of it!) doesn't mention any recipes hence my Q. Just trying a roast Pork at the mo, looking good (been in for nearly 1Hr so far with possibly another 30min to go!) Tongue
