Halloween

Any surprises planned for the little Terrorists / Blackmailers ?
Fire hose is primed and ready !
At a previous address we used to get around 7 knocks on the door at Halloween, from children demanding Sweets with menaces...
We kept a bag of wrapped sweets to pay off the Ransom.
Since we moved to our main residence, no-one knocks any more  Cry
But then it is at the end of a long Drive.
However, in anticipation, I bought a bag of wrapped sweets, along with a blank Hockey Mask, which, should there be a knock at the door, and the children are not too young, I will wear with a Trapper Hat and a Waist Level lamp.
I did think of wearing a White T-Shirt with Tomato Ketchup squirted on it, but I think that would be going a bit too far.

BTW, I was only joking about the Fire Hose !  Grin
Do you have any Surprises planned ?
How do you pay off the Ransom ?

I don't. If the knocking is persistent then I tell them to go away and take this 'trick or treat' drivel back to the States.

Re: Halloween

We don't believe in begging.
But we lock the gate when it starts to get dark anyway so that keeps any callers at bay...

Re: Halloween

I put up one of the many no trick or treat posters that are available from numerous websites,  they usually work,  for all but the most obstinate  Angry

Re: Halloween

It's pretty civil around here.
Usually just a few groups of kids wander around with an adult watching over them.
And they only call at houses that put out the welcome mat. (pumpkin on the doorstep or some other form of Halloween decoration)

"Nice Costume"
Just a trio of pleasant, amiable young lads tonight.
They were rewarded with ample Bounty.
If no-one else comes, Mask & Sweets into a cupboard, till next year.

Pumpkin Joke:
What's the difference between a pumpkin, and someone from xxxx ?
They both only have one tooth, but a pumpkin has a light behind the eyes.
