Hackers target company websites with child porn

Why haven't they tracked these horrible excuses for human beings down & eradicating them from society ?Huh
[quote=http://metro.co.uk/2014/04/07/hackers-target-company-websites-with-child-porn-4690765/]Hackers are hiding child abuse images on the websites of unwitting British companies to gain access to private computers, an internet group warns.
Cyber criminals have planted extreme content on hundreds of legitimate websites run by individuals and businesses to spread malware, according to the Internet Watch Foundation.
There were 392 reports of websites being used to host child sex abuse content received by the group in the second half of last year, compared with none in the previous 12 months.
In one case, a furniture company’s website was hosting sexual images of children without its knowledge.

.. because they're abroad, mostly
Actually, it's not just companies: apparently thousands of government sites are affected.  But it's OK: the government has plans in place to fix the problems (mostly by removing the sites) over the next 5 to 10 YEARS  Shocked

My guess is that gov / erm / meant they still have the illicit stuff from back in the 70's, & have never been prosecuted for it

Re: Hackers target company websites with child porn

Funny that this should come up.
I was searching for a book a while back and after clicking a link I found myself in a very large directory full of epubs.
Looking at the web address I was surprised to see the name of a well known UK store.
I suppose this sort of thing goes on a lot.
I wonder if any of these sites would be prosecuted if seriously illegal stuff was found on their servers / sites?
Would don't know how that got there guv ignorance work?

Re: Hackers target company websites with child porn

I suppose it is to hold the company at ransom (a different version or escalation from ransomware)

I would assume it's to make something illegal freely available but not traceable back to them.

On a forum I moderate, we have a banned member who is saying he will flood the forum with child porn pictures unless we agree to certain demands from him.

Re: Hackers target company websites with child porn

We've just kept the site owners informed - it will be up to them if he starts kicking off.
We've also kept the messages he's sent so if it does happen, the threats are there and recorded.
